Martino Elcasino: Morning. I'm Martin Sanda Simon aka MarTino Elcasino. A bilingual(Hausa/English) hiphop artist.
Phils Emjay: Growing up, What were your musical influences?
Martino Elcasino: Growing up in a house with my elder brothers, their friends and my neighbourhood in general influenced me in a great way.
Phils Emjay: Amazing! It's barely some time now, since "SANDA" (Panda cover) dropped, and you've been on low key, are you planing a new project soon?
Martino Elcasino: I wrote, recorded and uploaded the track, SANDA in about an hour after I felt the need to break the silence and keep in touch with my listeners(don't like using d word fans) after a long while. But I'm seriously working to feed the street with some lyrically-palatable stuff. A mixtape titled "Aboki's Lyrical Exercise(ALE)" first.
Phils Emjay: Your song "The Message" sounds deep to me, what inspired the song?
Martino Elcasino: The Message is straight to those who took Hiphop as a stupid job. On the day i wrote the song, I was actually challenged by a female friend on hiphop and I decided to redirect the negative energy into something positive. That's how d song came up!
